17. Paris, France

Paris, France

I was in Paris 8 years ago but that time I wasn't collecting flip flops so I wasn't searching. This one I got 2 years ago from my friends from school. They were in Paris for a student exchange. When they came back, they told me that they hadn't anything for me but when I walked to the classroom I spotted this magnet on my desk. I'm really glad that I have flip flop from France, I really love this country and la langue franรงaise. I don't have to explain what we can see at this flip flop, everybody knows Eiffel Tower. This magnet starts new design of flip flops - metal magnets with flower. I already have three of this kind so I will show you.

16. Batumi, Georgia

Batumi, Georgia

My first flip flop from Georgia and first double flip flop as well. I got it from friend of my parents. He has found it at the airport in Georgia. He has spotted him at the exhibition but the souvenir shop was closed because it was middle of the night. He was walking outside this shop, even security guard was interested why that man looked so desperate. And then, after 30 minutes of waiting, a girl from the shop has opened it and he could buy flip flop for me. It's one of the most original magnets on my fridge and only one from this country. Georgia is a sovereign state in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Located at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe, it is bounded to the west by the Black Sea, to the north by Russia, to the south by Turkey and Armenia, and to the southeast by Azerbaijan. The capital of Georgia is Tbilisi but this flip flop cames from Batumi. It's a seaside city on the Black Sea coast, one of the main port cities of Georgia. The tower on this flip flop is called Piazza. It's the visiting-card of Batumi, local peoples and tourists favourite place of meeting. Batumi Piazza is a hotel which was built in 2009 in Old Batumi. Batumi's skyline has been transformed since 2007 with remarkable buildings and monuments of contemporary architecture.

Rhodes, Greece

Greece again. This time I get flip flop from my best friend M, she gave me him in June. Rhodes is an Greek island located in the eastern Aegean Sea. Rhodes' nickname is 'The Island of the Knights'. Historically this island was famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes (that gold monument on this flip flop) which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Colossus was a statue of the Greek Titan Helios destroyed during the earthquake of 226 BC. Nowadays modern bronze deer statues (also on flip flop) stand in Mandraki harbor, where the Colossus may have stood.

Rome, Italy

One of the most original flip flop I have. I got it from my best friend M. When I first time told him about my collection, he was like 'what?' but few days later, after his trip to Italy, he gave me this. Flip flop is unpainted but it gives the impression that he came from Roman Empire. On the left side we can see a part of Colosseum. On the right side we can see St.Peter's Square with St.Peter's Basilica which are located in Vatican City in fact.

12. Marmaris, Turkey

Marmaris, Turkey

One more flip flop from Turkey but the first one from my friend P. Marmaris is a tourist resort on the Mediterranean coast, located in southwest Turkey, along the shoreline of the Turkish Riviera. It's a port town for lovers of cruise ships so it explains a presence of plenty of ships on this flip flop. This orange square on the left side may be an illustration of Marmaris Castle. It is believed that the Castle was first built by the Ionians and later on repaired during the era of the Alexander the Great. Nowadays is a place of museum.
